Accepted SESAME oceanographic data formats

MEDATLAS format for physical and geochemical data.
This format is recommended for data obtained by CTD. For those who do not have software to generate datasets in this format, we recommend the use of the
MEDACC database. The recommended way is to import SBE *.cnv files into the MEDACC database, perform quality control and export to MEDATLAS format.

ODV excel table arranged like an
ODV file, for geochemical and
physical data. This format is recommended for data obtained by BOTTLE casts or ROSETTA casts
where the number of observational levels is significantly lower than in a CTD cast. The number of observational levels for this format is limited by EXCEL worksheet limitation (less than 64000 strings).
- ESEAS and
ODV time series
formats for oceanographic data where the data acquisition method can be
interpreted as time series.ESEAS format is preferable for time series, due to
compact presentation of meta data information
*The measured parameters inside data file must be specified using
SESAME vocabularies codes.
