Parameters Definition Guide
The parameter definition interface allows data originators to specify the
measured parameters in standard terms.
To define parameters:
- Click on the appropriate MetaData set name
- Click on the Define Parameters hyperlink in the SESAME metadata page
- Type parameter name and unit in the terms defined by the originator in the
upper textbox
- Select a standard parameter name from the middle dropdown list.
- Select standard unit name for the parameter and finally approve your selection
by clicking the "Add Parameter". The submission result is displayed in the list
under the button.
- It is possible to shorten the dropdown list by clicking the "Filter"
checkbox and using the search interface which will be opened.
- If the parameter name/unit does not appear on
the dropdown list, a new parameter name/unit can be suggested by using the "Add
new" checkbox and adding the new name/unit in the textbox.
Note: the added name/unit
will be added to the vocabulary. However it can be changed afterwards by a
vocabulary manager with notification to the data provider. It is therefore
recommended that new names/units should only be added if you are convinced that
the parameter name/unit cannot be described by existing names/units.
